Rogue receives a 2008 IIHS Top Safety Pick Award 
To receive an Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) TOP SAFETY PICK, a vehicle must earn the highest possible rating ("Good") in each of the front, side, and rear impact tests performed by the IIHS. The front impact test is a 40 mph offset crash into a deformable barrier. During the side impact test, the vehicle is struck by a barrier that represents an average-sized SUV moving at 31 mph. The rear impact test simulates a stationary vehicle being struck in the rear at 20 mph. In addition to test performance, the vehicle must also be equipped with head protection air bags and have available electronic stability control.
